MEET CHARO TRIS
Soprano
Born in Zaragoza, after obtaining a degree in Business Sciences, she moved to Madrid to pursue her studies in singing with soprano Isabel Penagos. She graduated from the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid under the tutelage of tenor Manuel Cid. Throughout her training, she has been guided by esteemed Masters such as Peter Harrison, Elena Obratzsova (earning a Special Prize at her course in Callosa d'En Sarriá), Wolfram Rieger, Robert Expert, Miguel Zanetti, Victoria de los Ángeles, and Carlos Chausson, among others.
In 2000, she was awarded a scholarship from Juventudes Musicales, presented by His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias, current King of Spain, marking the beginning of her career as a soloist with her debut in Henry Purcell's "Dido and Aeneas".
Her operatic repertoire includes leading roles in renowned works such as Verdi's "La Traviata" (Violetta), Puccini's "Madama Butterfly" (Cio-Cio San) and "La Bohème" (Musetta), Donizetti's "Don Pasquale" (Norina), Rossini's "Il barbiere di Seviglia" (Rosina), Mozart's "L'elisir d'amore" (Adina), among others.
In the sacred music realm, she excels in classic masterpieces including Mozart's "Requiem", Pergolesi's "Stabat Mater", Mozart's "Exultate Jubilate", Handel's "Messiah", Bach's cantatas, and the Passions according to St. Matthew and St. John.
Her professional journey has taken her beyond Spain's borders, encompassing recitals to opera performances. She has toured Germany, Sweden, and Switzerland, and as winner of the Lied competition "Wolfram Rieger", she has presented recitals of Lieder repertoire in Germany.
As a concert singer, she premiered works by Fco. García Muñoz at the "Otoño Musical Soriano" Festival alongside baritone Alfredo García and pianist Victor Carbajo, later recording a disc of these works.
Regularly performing as a soprano soloist with JOFICAT (Jove Filharmonia Catalana) under the direction of Maestro Melani Mestre, she has graced renowned venues in Barcelona including El Palau de la Musica, Basilica Santa Maria del Mar, Sala de los Espejos del Teatro del Liceo, among others.
In addition to her performances, she has contributed significantly to the world of singing as a teacher, instructing at various institutions such as the Academia de Talentos 2009, L'Escola de Música de l'Escola Pia de Terrassa, Acadèmia Internacional de Música de Barcelona (AIMB), and Catalonia Film School in Vilanova i la Geltrú, teaching Vocal Technique and Singing for Actors.
